Following on from the editorial in the February issue of Futuribles on “Why study the future?”, Pierre Gonod in his turn argues that it is essential for us to keep refreshing our ways of thinking in order to try to understand the current situation in all its complexity while being alert to the unavoidable tendency to be subjective, including in our interpretations of the past.
Taking further the idea that “we are failing to devise adequate new explanatory theories”, he emphasizes that those engaged in futures studies today must find ways of “contributing to the development of self-built projects and a new political praxeology”.
