A Brief History of the Internet
Internet – whatever the hopes or fears that it inspires, and maybe because of them – constitutes without doubt today’s most popular technological innovation (and the absolute must of the “in” crowd).
By briefly retracing the genesis and development of this innovation since 1945, Charles du Granrut shows how the concepts and tools were established and how by interlocking they gave birth to the Internet. On the upstream, he underlines the work of the pioneers and the cross-fertilization among their inventions; on the downstream he emphasizes the complex and rich relationship between man and technology.
