The article by L. Bourdeau reviews a French study on the f utu re of the built envi-ronment, sponsored by the Centre Scientifique et Technique du Bâtiment (CSTB) and the Agence de l’Environnement et de la Maîtrise de l’Énergie (ADEME). The cho-sen horizon (2030) is relatively short when one considers the lifespan of a park but quite long in terms of the cycles of mate-rials and processes, and even longer compared to price fluctuations.
